About

I am a 38 year old wife to Glenn and Mom to Emry Glenn (11), Lila Glenn (9) and Ethan Glenn ((6) living in Southern California.  You can probably tell I like my husband a whole bunch.  It was my idea to name all of our children after him because I want them all to be just like their dad.......he's pretty great.

He has supported my dream of being at home with them to experience the maddening, precious, crazy, trying and sweet moments of being a stay at home Mom.  I absolutely love my job and take it very seriously.  I try to parent with love, patience, prayer and the occasional bribe and threat thrown in.

I grew up in not the best part of town in a small house with 8 siblings, so I can hold my own.  Although I've met my match with these 3.

I love staying active with the kids, baking, eating, writing, blogging, reading, and taking care of our home.

I enjoy going to the beach with my family and watching them play in the water all day.

I am a huge fan of thrift store shopping, recycling, eating healthy food, making my own bread and granola and hugging trees apparently.

I am always up for board games as that is when my competitive nature comes out.  Even better I love teaming up with Glenn because he always wins, or my sister Jeannette because we can read each others mind.  This comes in very handy when playing Taboo.

We belong to The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints.  Or you can just save your breath and call us Mormons.

Thanks so much for your comment on my post, I have been getting better lately at being at peace with myself. And truust me, I am dating! More than I have ever dated in my entire life. I am being very careful that whoever I end up marrying, I will be absolutely certain is the guy for me...before the fact!

  8. I see in your blurb on your homepage that you're Mormon, so you grind your own wheat and bake your own bread. I have definitely noticed this trend among Mormons. What's the reasoning behind that? (I don't see any of my Mormon friend on a daily basis right now.) One of my non-Mormon friends is considering buying a wheat mill, which I'd totally use sometimes, so I've been pondering this topic lately.

    1. If you go to the January 2012 archives there is a post titled 'Mormon Lingo' and another titled 'Better than Jewlery' that you might be interested in. My wheat grinder brand is 'The Kitchen Mill' & I love it because I like to grind my own wheat (Just remembered there is a post under 'favorites' titled 'The daily grind' you would like.

I usually grind about 5 lbs at a time and keep it in a bin in the fridge for the week. I buy my grains in bulk from a grain supplier but you could easily buy them at a grocery store, especially ones that have the bulk bins.

  10. That's amazing that you take so much pride in being a Mom. So many women overlook it and spend more time at work then with their kids. Love your pictures and am excited to read your blog ^^

  13. I just got your comment from my blog (through Lisa) and I really wanted to briefly respond and say thanks for reaching out. The more I've put myself out there, the more I've found that there are TONS of us who find a lot of peace with different political leanings. Anyway, I just peaked at your blog and you have a gorgeous family and they are blessed to have such a thoughtful (and busy!) mom. Keep up the great work and good luck to you!
