White Kids can Jump
Lila has been asking for the past year to play basketball. I am not sure where this desire came from as we don't usually hang around shooting hoops. Also, Lila is so short, I didn't really think basketball was a good fit. I thought she would forget about it but she never did. I finally looked up a class at the Rec.Center and decided I might as well sign Ethan up too.
You can tell by Lila's face that she is all business and there to learn. They had 2 instructors that were good ball players & great with the kids.
At the end they played a game and Ethan actually made a shot. In a real basketball hoop, not lowered or anything. I couldn't believe it. I was so proud of both kids as they really tried their best and listened and put into practice what the coaches taught them.
After dinner I took the kids to McDonalds as Emry has been asking every day to redeem a coupon for a free ice cream. Not kidding, Every. Day. The coupon was expiring that day so off we went. Of course we all had to get one.......
That's my kids idea of 'smiling for the camera'.

I love that shot of Lila, so funny! I thought the last picture was going to be of Lila with ice cream smeared all over her because it looks like Emry is totally trying to get her! Man, our first two kids are so similar. Kalen towers over Gwyneth, which I can see is the case with Emry and Lila. So funny. Great job to Ethan for making the basket, I'm sure his sporting days have only just begun. xoxoxo Shauna
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. I'm not a sports fan whatsoever but basketball is the most exciting. I actually played for a year in middle school and it was so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI love it. So cute. I always was the short girl who wanted to play b-ball because my tall friends did. Epic fail for me... but here's to hoping for Lila!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the ice cream pics... they're so sweet to not ACTUALLY waste the ice cream on each other's faces. :)
OMG, the last picture was my favorite!!
ReplyDeleteThat's fun. When you are that age it ALL looks like a sport worth trying! I tried B-Ball until I FINALLY realized how bad I was...
ReplyDeleteSmiling for the camera is always good no matter how it's done.
ReplyDeleteLila was so serious about learning basketball. That's great. I wish I could get my daughter into something she really wanted to do.
I love the title of this post...too cute. As are your kids! And these pictures are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteOkay, cutest kids ever. Love their idea of "smiling". I'm impressed that no one seemed to have ice cream down their shirt or anything.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, perfect title. :)Yay for Ethan making a real shot! :)
That's such great exercise for the little ones. Great idea! They are too cute!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute pictures!! And McD's has awesome ice cream. So glad they had a great time.
