The kids had 2 weeks off for Spring Break. During the 2nd week my brother Kyle came from Utah with his daughter Iree. Iree & Lila are the same age and were inseparable. Add in Jeannette's little ones Nathan & Kiera and we were in full party mode.
We went to the $ store and the kids picked out candy, games & a movie for a cousin sleepover. We left Emry in charge and had an adult only night at my moms while the kids played and partied. When we left at 5 pm they were playing out back, not wanting to start the movie until late because they were convinced they were going to stay up all night. Upon Glenn & I's arrival home at 11pm they somehow convinced me to take them TP'ing. I couldn't say no the cousins hard partying ways could I?
I remember going to my Grandparents Farm every summer and the wonderful memories made with all of my cousins. I am so glad my kids love their cousins so much and are creating memories of their own. It goes beyond memories though. There's something about a cousin that just binds you right up, no explanations needed.
It was busybusy, gogogo, stayuplate & playallday. The times were good and the love was great. My kids dropped everything because all they wanted to do was be with their kin.
Oh my goodness gracious...you took them toilet papering!? Can you believe your kids are that big?
ReplyDeleteMarie, what great times, great pictures!!! My kids love cousin time too. Marie, I think about you and how happy I am for you that in the end you are surrounded by your family, things are working out for Glenn. You are so blessed and it's because you are all so wonderful and diligent. And really it's only the beginning. You and Glenn must be so happy with all you've accomplished so far. We all want to be part of the Wallwork family. I'm just glad that I am...
Love you to pieces,
Shauna xo
I love that you took them Tp-ing. That is pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute group of kids!
ReplyDeleteYour family has so much fun!!!
How wonderful! Looks like all the kiddos had a blast!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree there is something special about cousins. Wow! 2 weeks is a long break. We get one! Do you guys do year round school?
ReplyDeleteIt's modified year round. 1 week at Thanksgiving, 2 at Christmas, 2 for Spring break and days off here and there. We get a 9 week summer I believe. I like this arrangement as it's great to rejuvenate throughout the year.
Deletethat looks like so much fun. guess great hair runs in the family.
ReplyDeleteIt's always more fun having cousins in town!!!
ReplyDeletewow 2 weeks for spring break, how nice for them! looks like the cousins are having a great time and definitely having a lot of play time! im sure they won't want to head back to school
ReplyDelete2 weeks! How interesting that we only get 1?
ReplyDeleteI used to love spending the night at my cousin's place...definitely top of my happy memory stack from my childhood!
It's great that your kids have cousins around their ages. I grew up with all my cousins older than me, so we didn't get to do this kind of thing. Emry was in charge--way more fun than adults in charge!
ReplyDeleteWait wait wait... Did I read this right? You guys went TP'ing??? They must think you're the coolest mom even!!!
ReplyDeleteCousins are the best and I'm sure the whole gang had a blast :D
Ah, this is amazing. One nice thing about our big move is that we are going to be close to family again. C, B and baby3 are 3 of 8 grandsons on Kev's side!
ReplyDeleteThat is just a mass of kids when they all get together! I'll bet it gets LOUD!
ReplyDeleteWay cool! Some extremely valid points! I appreciate you penning this article plus the rest of the site is extremely
ReplyDeletegood.

I got three weeks off and I got CRAZY!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your post--now I have some idea about how to keep the twins busy!
I still rejoice my time with my cousins, glad the kids had a greeatt time!
Growing up and being with my cousins is my favorite childhood memory, always.
ReplyDeleteCousins are the BEST! I hope that, someday, my kids get to live near their cousins. And I'm super excited that, this year, we are getting all the cousins (all 17 of them!) together for a camping trip!
ReplyDeleteSadly my parents moved away from family before I was born, so I only saw my cousins once a year. It was still great memories, but I always wondered what it had been like to grow up close, having them over for Sunday dinner, etc.
ReplyDeleteSame. All my extended family is in Utah and Idaho. My dad took us all to California and here most of us have stayed, (1 brother in Utah, 1 brother in Texas). But even us Californians are scattered so it's a big deal when we're all together.
DeleteOh my that looks like fun and NICE WEATHER! I love when cousins get together and play!
ReplyDeleteI used to be so close with my cousins, but it they fell off. It's a real shame. I miss them.
ReplyDeleteMe too, time & distance are to blame. But when we do see each other we pick up right where we left off.
Deletethey will always remember this!! so wonderful.
ReplyDeletecousins are the best thing since sliced bread. ;P love that they're are so many in your family.
