Photos from my Trip......

So I am back!  Every year I go on a girls trip with my girlfriends.  This year was as great as years past and I want to get every little detail down so I can remember all the fun that was had.  My best girlfriend Shauna has a Saint for a husband who offered to take their 5 kids and stay with his parents for the weekend so a group of us could use their home for our little get together.

First up was waiting an hour in the arctic SJ weather at the airport for Shauna to pick me up.  Coming from Southern Ca. it seemed like I might be caught in a snowstorm (just sayin').  Shauna my love just had her sixth baby a few weeks ago and we all know that somethings gotta give.........that day it was me.

The night was spent hanging out, eating, catching up, playing games and of course going and getting yogurt.  I shared a bed with Shauna while baby Summer slept peacefully in her walk in closet.  I couldn't believe Shauna had the energy to nurse throughout the night and still be bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning.

We shopped, we ate out, we got yogurt again.  We stayed up late playing games (again) with me being the first one to bed.  We went on a gorgeous hike where Thira was on binky patrol and had to backtrack every time we noticed baby Summer had lost her pacifier.  Thira has eagle eyes and found it every time. We shopped Los Gatos and changed plans according to baby schedules.  Between the 6 of us we have 18 kids (2 of them with us that day) so it was par for the course and we just went with the flow.

I couldn't believe how big and busy San Jose was (is).  I refer to it now as the big city, which it is.  It was weird to be back and experience all the action and congestion.  I loved being there, but I much prefer being a country bumkin here in little ol' Temecula.

I love my friends.  I love forgetting about the kids for a few days and solely focusing on having fun.  Let's see what my pictures have to say about my trip......

So as you can see I took out my camera once.  Yes, once for about 5 minutes.  This is at Valley Fair mall in San Jose and when I saw this little dog boutique I just knew the girls would have loved it, so I had to take some pictures for them.  (So much for forgetting about the kids)  It was so over the top.  Gourmet everything for your precious little dog.  So where are my friends?  Where are my priorities?

The truth is I like to just live.  I like to go out to dinner without whipping out a camera and hike without a camera on my hip.  If that makes me a bad blogger than so be it.

On my last day there Shauna, Thira and myself were dressed in our best and all done up for church.  I wanted to get a picture then but in all the hustle and bustle of trying to get 6 kids and 4 adults out the door on time, it didn't happen.  Once home I quickly changed out of my beautiful dress and forgot all about the picture.  Kirk took one just before I had to go catch my flight (with me dressed in my travel clothes - sweats) and eventually I will have that one picture to remember my time with my girls.

I hope I look good.

  1. Hey-is there ever a moment where you don't look beautiful? I am looking at our pictures together right now and they are great. I am emailing them to you in just a moment. I had so much fun! I love you and do you believe that I already miss you? I do. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

  3. I am also terrible about taking photos! I usually remember halfway through something and simply whip out my sad little iPhone instead of a proper camera.

Seriously though...living life is way more important than trying to capture it on film.
