Typical Wednesday

Glenn gave me notice that we were going to the pool Wednesday night with friends and I was bringing dessert.  Flipping through the cookies and past the cupcakes in my dessert binder I came across these white chocolate raspberry cheesecake bars that Emry loves.  Not the quickest dessert, but really delicious.

We like to pretend that Wednesdays are Fridays.

All the boys love handball.  Is this a California thing?

My gorgeous friend Stephanie who gave birth a few weeks ago to a girl after 3 boys.

And that's a typical Wednesday night around these parts.  My children spend half their life in the pool and they have the bleached, brittle, chlorinated hair to prove it.

  3. Growing up, I wish that we'd had more "Friday" Wednesdays than we did. It was always...study, study, study....go, go, go. Your kids are lucky!

And your sister is so pretty! I wish I had hair like you and all of your gorgeous siblings. :)

I have never heard of handball, and can't quite figure out how to play it from the picture. Going to have to go google this...

  10. Ah, I wish I had a pool so badly! Although here in England, it rains so much that we could practically swim to work. Love that your kids keep so active, looks like you have a lovely home for them :)

  11. See what happens when I leave for days without my kids...I get home and am totally out of it. I have to get back into the swing of things. Your last post was so fitting to my return home from your house. On the way home from the airport Kirk is telling me that there is some awful smell coming from upstairs, specifically the boys room. He says they stripped beds (so tons of the laundry to come home to) and have torn everything apart but nothing? I get home take one look in the boys room and see their full trash can. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Could it be? Of course. Nice Kirk. Isn't that funny that your post was about stinking? It was nasty, they had thrown an apple in it or something that molded. Disgusting.

This post is awesome! Because those bars look great. I am making those. What a perfect treat for summer. We never went to the pool while I was there. That's okay, we've been to our pool everyday since I got home. Next week it's supposed to be cool again. I love that picture of Stephanie, so fitting, she has her girl, she is clearly in love. I think she's gorgeous too. I love you Marie. I can't believe I'm back home and without you one more time. I enjoyed being with you so much, just to be with you is so nice. I love your family and your home, it's so inviting. So thankful to be a part of it. Love to you always.

  15. First of all, those bars look SO yummy- and pretty!
I'm so jealous of the swimming! It's still not really pool weather here yet, but I can't wait! I actually didn't swim once last year- which is awful! I need to convince Greg that we should put a pool in our backyard. It's perfectly flat!

  20. Oh can I relate to that chlorinated hair! As a child my hair was white. Growing up in FL meant it was often green. Yes, a lovely shade of Nickelodeon slime. Oh memories.

  25. What a fun day it is. Kids are really unstoppable when it comes to the pool. They could just dip in there for the whole day. By the way, thanks for the recipe. It looks so delicious.
