Got my SD card back so now I can post the fun that was 8 hours in the backseat with Lila & Ethan. It wasn't all crazy, the kids were actually so good about reading, sleeping and guzzling soda and treats.
We hitched a ride up north for my nephews baptism over Memorial Day Weekend and had to pay a visit to Rancho Zamora, my sister's home. These horses are what the kids live for. Emry learned to run them and oh my goodness was she in heaven.
Animals abound here. Rabbits, horses, dogs, cats, peacocks & chickens. My sister Margo is an animal lover through and through.
My sister is a great cook and made delicious enchiladas the night we arrived. Home cooked food is so appreciated after food on the road.
Sleepover at Uncle Aaron's house. The kids had no trouble sleeping, I however blame my super comfy supreme mattress at home for turning me into a mattress snob and therefore not getting one good nights sleep. One night I came back from the bathroom in the middle of the night to find one of the big dog's taking up half my couch. I didn't have the heart to move him so I just curled up in a ball and kinda went back to sleep. Heavy emphasis on kinda.
Giddy about being together and having crepes for breakfast. Us Mitchell kids grew up on crepes and the kids love them as well.
Emry was taught the proper way to clean the horses hoofs, such a cowhand that girl.
Until next time..................
Very cool! Except that I am now craving a crepe- yum!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time! Will you guys come cook for me??? Please? Those enchiladas and crepes look divine!
ReplyDeleteI really love how comfortable they are around all the animals. This was so neat!
ReplyDeleteThey love it. Emry is just like her Aunt Margo (my sister) totally an animal whisperer.

There were so many snaps I loved in this post (they all told the story quite perfectly), but then I got really distracted by the peacock! Like, extremely distracted. I'm so glad that you got to celebrate a wonderful life cycle event and spend such quality time together with your sister while you were away.

ReplyDelete"emphasis on kinda' so clever.
Horses make me nervous. Oh well.. So does a group of children, so your post kinda gave me anxiety.. ;)
emry looks more and more like you! :-) such beautiful, smiling kids.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and great photos, Marie! Your kids always look like they enjoy being together with their cousins and each other. Cool!

They all look like naturals on the horses! What a fun vacation! The picture of the dogs all lined up waiting for someone to toss them a bit of lunch is hilarious!!! Little beggars!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys had so much fun! I have always wanted to learn how to ride horses buy I'm afraid of them since I was a kid.
