Lakeside

When my brothers were here a few weeks ago Glenn & I took all the kids to the lake to play.  Not actually to the lake but a little water park by the lake. It was fun watching them run all over the place having fun with each other.     Above - Kylee Roberts, Emry & Lila Wallwork, Iree Mitchell, Keira Roberts

I am laughing at this picture because I just wanted the 2 boys but at the last minute Keira literally jumped into the picture.  That girl has a way of working herself into any shot.

Nathan & Keira Roberts, Ethan Wallwork

Glenn is soaking up some rays, him & I are opposite that way.  You'll always find me huddled in the shade while he's always seeking out the sun.  Soak it up Glenn, it just means I'll always look younger than you which is fine by me.

Look who came to say hello?

Glenn with Emry & Ethan.  I don't get all mushy on this here blog but I love this picture.  Glenn is a fantastic father and the kids adore him.  The other day we were asking them if we got divorced (hypothetically of course, we're just weird parents who ask those kind of questions) who they would want to live with.  They all said their dad.  I think Emry's exact words were "We love you mom because you're sweet and nurturing and read to us and stuff, but dad's just more fun".  I am taking credit for choosing a seriously great dad for my kids.

Glenn & Ethan.   heartbreaking

Whaddaya know?

Another fun day in the sun.  Check.

    1. Little girls are the sweetest. They will literally make a friend in one second, play with her for five, and then give big ol' bear hugs when they part like they've known each other forever.

  5. No worries, my kids would choose their great dad too and I love him for it. Another sweet memory in the books for your family.

  8. I mean, really. You take the most hysterical snaps, like the one where Ethan is laying just flat as can be on the concrete!

It's absolutely wonderful that your children adore their father so much and that he so clearly loves them. I so hope that Marcus will be that father one day!

  23. Haha, I love Ethan in that pic with Glenn and Emry, he looks RELAXED. What a great family, and I love that you're cool with coming in second (because it means they have a great dad!)--although I'm sure after just a week of fun and none of that "nurturing" stuff, they'd come running for some good food and some peace and quiet :)

  25. I concur Marie. If you & Glenn ever split up, I might pick Glenn too ;) So funny! You captured Kiera's "You will love me!, like or it or not" quirkiness in these photo's. Looks like I missed out on a fun day. So glad I have a record of at least the days my kids spent with you to look back on :) <3 Jeannette

  26. Good job on picking a fantastic dad...but ask them next time if Dad will prepare the delicious food that you do?
Eventually they would get hungry and at least want to come visit you.

Those picks at the lake are phenomenal.
