Saturday was the kids School Carnival. It was a beautiful day and I took Ethan, Lila & 10 dollars on down to join in on the fun.
Last year I was room mom for Lila's class & was in charge of our booth for the carnival. It was so nice to just show up and have fun this year with no responsibilities. We ran into some friends who inspired my kids to.......................
..................eat sugar. But really, they need no inspiration for this.
We spent time with their cousins Nathan and Kiera. They won candy and little toys and thought it was a great day.
And it was.
Fun times. Our trunk or treat was different this year. Instead of doing it in the parking lot they did it in all of the classrooms in the building. It really minimized the amount of candy, which I liked because my kids also go out on Halloween night. So, we really have yet to see the candy mania. Love you,

Our ward Halloween party is tonight, I am in charge of the cake walk, you better believe I'll be playing dance tunes all night.
DeleteWhat fun! I love the last photo!
ReplyDeleteYAY for just being able to sit, relax and enjoy the day without a volunteer role. It's always nice to help, but it's certainly good for others to do it now and then too!
ReplyDeleteExactly, let's spread it around people.
Deletelooks like a lot of fun! i love local events like this! :)
ReplyDeleteHannah's school carnivals were always inside the school. Parents were asked to volunteer in 30 minutes for various booths. It never failed that I would be the first person scheduled at a particular area, and every parent who was supposed to work after me would never show and I'd be on my feet for 8 hours.
ReplyDeleteGlad you just got to have fun!
This is the beauty of our carnival, we have the high-schoolers come and man the booths (they fill service hours, win-win), the parents sign up for 30 minute increments, but you really have to just check in and make sure all is well.
DeleteOh so cute! I remember eating cotton candy as a kit :P So delish and such a rare treat! By the way I'm so jealous you guys have such nice weather at the moment :P It's been raining the last 3-4 days in Toronto and it's really windy at the moment :S
ReplyDeleteOur state may be going bankrupt BUT we have amazing weather. My kids wore shorts to school today.
DeleteI loved Halloween carnivals as a kid!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a lot of fun! I like the sunny pictures and the colorful face painting!
ReplyDeletesuch a fun fun day!!
ReplyDeleteAhh, what would childhood be without sugar! Looks like a blast of a day :)
ReplyDeleteGood times indeed! If you can't have cotton candy on a stick at a carnaval...when can you? It looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's been YEARS since I've had cotton candy! It looks so good I could almost trick myself into thinking I could eat it without getting a stomach ache. ;o)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun festival and a great way to spend a Saturday!
ReplyDeleteSuch a super fun day. I enjoy carnivals..sometimes only. The crowd can be overwhelming. But the kids always love it, cotton candy, games, balloons n all. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh your life looks like so much fun! ;) How were your THREE (I can't caps the number 3) Halloween parties?? So fun!
ReplyDeleteVery fun. One we literally were at for 5 minutes. I mean come on, we are very popular and have places to go people! :)
DeleteLooks like you all had beautiful weather for the festival and that everyone had a good time.
ReplyDeleteWe had a fall carnival at Emma's school. It wasn't as fancy as yours, but the kids still had a blast!
ReplyDeleteCute and fun.
