Ready or Not

I got a phone.  It's overwhelming and I am sure it's awesomeness is lost on me but it's here and eventually I'll grit my teeth and learn how to use it.  It's the iphone 5.  Glenn bought it for himself, was unimpressed, went back to his old phone and threw this one in my direction.

My kids are beyond excited, my friends are relieved and I am sure once I learn how to use it I'll be happy I have it ................if I remember what it can do.

You see, a few weeks ago I was running with Glenn's iphone so I could listen to Pandora.  About halfway through my run I heard a call come in.  Oh no, it was a client of Glenn's & what if it was important?  If only there was a way to get a hold of him and let him know.  I was nearing an intersection where I might come across a fellow runner, a kid on their way to school or a car stopped at the light.  Surely they wouldn't mind letting me borrow their phone to make a quick call.

What to do, what to do, if only I had a way to get a hold of him.  I am picking up my pace nearing the intersection when all of a sudden it dawns on me that I could use my Pandora thing-y to call him.  Brilliant.

This may take a while.

    1. You are the sweetest ever, you're right! It is today and I couldn't be more excited to get some relief. And yes, wish me luck with the phone, I've pretty much ignored it but know eventually I'll learn to use it. I basically told Emry to get familiar with it and just give me the cliff notes version. I don't do well with technology.

  6. Okay, take a deep breath, collect your thoughts and remain calm. YOU GOT A PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marie, just take it one step at a time. First just get use to calling people with it and adding them to your contact list. Take pictures with it here and there, this sort of thing. Trust me this phone, the app features, are so easy to use. You will love it in a few months, trust. What I love are the scriptures, for the built in light I can read in bed at night. I don't use it at church though, that's just me.

I love the ease of taking pictures and fun features like instagram. So much more, but won't go into it. You'll see for yourself.

You are cracking me up. You're killing me Marie. I could see myself doing the same thing. Welcome to the 21st century!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I love you,

    1. The kids are chomping at the bit to get at it. I really don't know how to do a lot on it but I am sure my 12 year old can teach me. Apparently kids are born knowing all this stuff now.

  19. You are so funny with your Pandora story! I have a smartphone, but I haven't figured out how to put Pandora on it. I need to - I'm sure it's as simple as searching the Google Play store (android phone).

    Enjoy your new phone!

  20. You will be head over heels with that thing by Christmas! I think you're lucky he didn't like it so you could have it!

  21. Ali tried to throw his iPhone 5 at me too! How interesting. I think Ali was very unimpressed with the maps, which apparently is a deal breaker for him? Too funny.

In any case, I think you will end up loving it Marie!
