Our family has spent the past two Saturdays at Petco getting Brutus up to date on his shots and licensing him. Why now? Oh, because Animal Control paid us a little visit a few weeks ago. Apparently one of our awesome neighbors has a problem with the rare occasion Brutus gets out of the house and roams the neighborhood.
It never even occurred to me to license him until I was forced to. Just another way for the government to take my money I guess. He weighs less than 10 pounds, don't I get a discount?
I am still trying to figure out why anyone would be afraid of a chiahuahua? Brutus may have barked at the Grandma of the house a time erm, or two, but I am letting the world know now that all you have to do to a barking chiahuahua is take a half a step towards them and they will run so fast in the opposite direction you'll wonder if they were ever there.
Next up is securing the fence in the back and getting Brutus neutered. Again, hoping for a discount.
Looks like your kids think he's worth it :)
ReplyDeleteYour kids are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI did find someone to do another design on my blog. :) Can't wait to reveal it in a couple of days! ;)

ReplyDeleteHave fun in vegas. Here is a small entry on Vegas I had written--maybe it gives you some tips

It's true. They're all bark and a whole lot of tuck tail and run!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first I've ever heard about needing to license an animal. But then again we have no pets so I guess I'm just ignorant?
ReplyDeleteYou are going to Vegas? So many good restaurants! I hope you have a fantastic time. :)
Happy Sunday my friend.
I love dogs! He looks so cute, couldn't imagine him hurting a fly!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I remember some people knocked on doors in my condominium and asked it they had pets. We kind of lied and said we didn't but our neighbors had to pay "tax" on their cat. Silly right?
ReplyDeleteAgreed silly. And kind of lied? You're my kind of girl :)
DeleteMy son used to be chased by this type of dog when he walked home from school. I laughed!
ReplyDeletehahaha you are so funny. i hope you get a discount :)
ReplyDeleteThis gave me the best chuckle...... yes, very scary he is! :)
ReplyDeleteSo you know which neighbor called animal control on you? That's going to be a bit awkward from now on...
ReplyDeleteMy parents have a chihuahua her name is "lovey" in Korean =)
ReplyDeleteAw, such a cute puppy!
ReplyDeleteBrutus has trouble written all over him! NOT! It always amazes me the time that people have on their hands to make complaints. If only they spent that time on reaching out and being friendly to their neighbors.
ReplyDeleteHope is surgery and recovery go smoothly!
Cuteness. What can he possibly do! Very cute pic!
ReplyDeleteWho could be scared of that cutie!
ReplyDeleteSeriously someone complained about your sweet Brutus?
ReplyDeleteUtter nonsense and no ever a remote threat.
However some people just love to make trouble when they can. I suspect it is their own unhappiness with their lives that makes them do this.
Have you checked with the local shelter? Sometimes they run clinics on neutering and those can be cheaper.
I hope you have a happy Tuesday Marie...don't let Grandma get you down.
Hey did you forget to give that neighbor some of your caramel corn at Christmas? haahaaa. This is cute. I guess that dang dog is cute too.... :)
ReplyDeleteShauna xoxo
Dang dog? You mean most beloved precious love of my life dog? I thought so.
DeleteHow could you be mean to that face? I'd let Brutus do his business on their front steps.
ReplyDeleteSee if your city has a spay/neuter van through any of the shelters! You get put on a waitlist for a couple weeks, but then they show up at your house and do it for free! No travel, no money. Otherwise, lots of shelters do offer discounts or have free days, just a little planning and a car ride involved :)
ReplyDeleteI really don't understand the point of dog licenses. I guess it's exactly as you said...just a way for the government to get some money! I mean, cats sometimes go outside and you don't have to get a license to own one!
