Summer Started

What else would we do on the first day of Summer?

Melanie (from Utah), Nettie, Ryan, Jared, and Glenn striking a pose of course.

I have the palest child on earth and have been forced to use zinc as a normal sunblock.

Between 5 couples we had 20 kids, and they all made it home safely.  And if that wasn't enough fun my family met up with some friends and spent the night camping!!!!!  Camping is my ultimate least favorite thing to do in the world, but the kids had a blast.

And it's only just begun!

  1. How stinking fun!! I am so jealous you get to live in Cali...it is my dream to talk Rob into moving back!! The smores looked so gooey good! What a fun way to kick off summer...even if you did have to sleep in a tent on the hard ground. :) I bet the kids loved it.

  2. I am so happy to see you camping!!! Looks like you all had a blast. We would love to start summer if it would only stop raining...yesterday June 1st, we had thunder storms. Can't wait to see you!

  4. Hey Marie! I thought I had the palest child on earth! Alli got Adam's skin and I am already freaking out every time we are outside. Poor baby is glowing white. I need some serious pointers since my boys all tan and don't burn easily. I didn't realize how easy I had it before!

  5. Love the honesty...camping is my least favorite thing to do. You are a star for sucking it up and making it happen Marie! I need to take a lesson on how to do that.

I love all the little blond California girls! And the sunscreen only makes your beautiful little girl even more cute.

  6. Oh my gosh that is me, I didn't even notice. Heck no I didn't sleep there, I slept in the van on a blow-up mattress like a normal person. Britt, that is actually diaper ointment on Lila per our pharmacist friends suggestion. It comes off a little too easy though so we will be getting the inka zink or whatever it's called. And I absolutely have no shame in admitting I hate camping more than anything. I have checked it off my life list. I am done!
