Etc.

Some random photos that never made it to a blog post.  Sorry pics, I obviously set really high standards for this blog and you just didn't make the cut.  Until now.

Ethan's self portrait.  I keep telling him to 'go ahead & use my camera' since the reverse obviously isn't working.

I am sure Emry took this.  There were about 15 of these exciting photos.  I've taken to calling her the mad scientist because she loves destroying my kitchen with experiments, loves insects and explosions and she's so dang smart....... but the girl can't pick up a towel to save her life.

My birthday.  The kids couldn't wait to give me their gifts until I was photo ready, it had to be the instant I came in from a run.

As I snapped this Ethan said.  "Don't put this on your blog".  Right.

Cousins playing dress up.  Lila looks like she's been crying because she was.  She didn't like her makeup, she thought it made her look ugly.  Girls.  But what a trooper she smiled anyway! (kinda)

A meal I made for a friend who had just had a baby.  I was really proud of this quinoa salad because I threw it together without a recipe and it was delicious.  It had sweet potatoes, apples, dates, feta and walnuts in a vinaigrette over greens.

Emry made a microwaved cake in a mug and wanted me to try it. Nothing like taking a break from working out to eat cake.

Never posted a 'first day of school pic' & now you know why.  Lila even said it was her most 'unfancy first day of school outfit ever'.  The time just got away from us that morning and before you know it I am taking a pic in front of the crosswalk at school.

The scene of my backyard during a BBQ with friends.  Mass kids.  Always.

Before church the kids were hysterical at a game they made up.  Emry was doing some fruit ninja thing.  It made no sense whatsoever but what do I know, I am just a grown up.

  5. Could you come up with a recipe for your quinoa salad??? I have been really wanting to try something like this but have no clue where to start. :)

    1. Brittnie just make the quinoa and then add the increments of all the add-ins to your liking, trust me you can't go wrong. At the end just keep adding a small amount of dressing to your taste, just don't add too much, you won't need it.

  6. Those are wonderful shots of the kids. Sometimes you need a random post like this to just share what life is like for the Wallworks. I love your ensemble for your birthday (the tiara really does make the girl) and Ethan in front of the dollhouse might haunt him later, but it is nice that he can play with it and enjoy it without feeling guilty.
I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!!!

    1. We all live parallel lives don't we. The day in and day out stuff is wonderful. PS the tiara was Lila's idea of course.

  8. I don't know what's funnier - Ethan's face in the back to school photo, Ethan playing with the dollhouse, or you eating cake in workout clothes! :o) I love these!!!

  9. I love this post! This is what life is really about.

That dollhouse is awesome, no wonder Ethan wanted to play with it.

    1. A friend gave us the dollhouse with tons of furniture that her daughter has outgrown. Lila is almost 10 but is as into dolls as any 5 year old.

We're also big fans of tricked out headbands :)

  12. That is the most gorgeous dollhouse! So pretty.

And really, could your family be more perfect and gorgeous? I can't say it enough. Even though I know I do!

And finally, only you could make something as un-photogenic (is that a word?) as quinoa look delicious. Love the addition of dates...will have to try that!
