The other Wallworks that is. That would be Glenn's little brother Mark, his wife Thira & their 4 sons. All staying comfy cozy with us. In our house. In the rain. 7 kids in one house in the rain. We had to get em' out so we headed to the hot tub.
The Wallworks & The Wallworks
Wallwork cousins aka the loudest, rowdiest kids in the world.
I just noticed there's a Roberts in there, (my sisters son) These were taken after church today, left to right
Ladreal W. Nathan R. Lila, Ethan, Emry (my 3), Karm W. Landell W., Raith W.
St. Patricks day morning. The kids awoke to a trail of golden chocolate coins leading them to a dining room where a licorice rainbow treat and Lucky Charms awaited them. I debated getting the sugar cereal and then I just thought I would throw caution to the wind and go for it. I am so glad I did the kids loved the whole fun and excitement of celebrating.
Saturday night we had a barbecue so celebrate the other Wallworks being in town. As usual I didn't get all the food because as soon as it was served we demolished it, but aren't these fruit platters lovely?
You don't expect a little something like rain to stop us from playing volleyball do you?
Mark & his boys - Glenn and our kids
Just had to show the progression of Glenn's face. He can only stand so many pictures before he starts to lose it.
We had 30 people here for dinner. 20 were kids. We're pretty much masochists.
Way to show your home town pride Ladreal.
My mom makes the best homemade caramel & chocolate sauce for sundaes. One taste brings back so many memories of eating this growing up. Jeannette & I were sitting next to each other eating our sundaes while literally being transported back in time.
I always get mad at people using their cell phone at my house since I am controlling and all (really it's because I am jealous and hope they'll teach me how to turn it on) but since Kylee was reading my blog I'll give her a pass this time. Jeannette says she loves my blog and is a loyal reader. Hey, Hey, Hey Kylee. That's supposed to sound cool, not like Yogi Bear, it doesn't really translate, moving on..............
It rained all night last night and even hailed. Hailed!!!! I was surprised they didn't shut the city down, us Southern Californians aren't used to such frightening, dangerous weather. Emry took this pic today. Guess the Lucky Charms were a good call after all.
**To all my lovely blog friends who are hosted by Wordpress. I love you & your blogs unfortunately I am irate with your host right now and can't communicate with any of you. They have some (lame) new rules, maybe you've heard. Hope to get the situation remedied soon. -Marie

That looks like so much fun!!! :) I love your St. Patty's day celebration!
ReplyDeleteYour idea for the kids St. Patricks day breakfast reminds me of what my mom used to do for us growing up. She would go all out on any special day and we would have green shamrock shaped pancakes. If not theme shaped and colored pancakes she would splurge on the sugary cereal for us (which we never got) and we just loved it.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time on these little holidays I totally drop the ball, so glad I got it together this year, the kids loved it!!
DeleteWhat a full house! Looks like a blast! I love the rainbow picture at the end- it fits perfectly :). What a lucky bunch!!
ReplyDeleteHoly party Marie!! Looks like you had the most fab weekend with your family! You are the hostess with the mostess, feeding 30 people!! Mmm homemade chocolate AND caramel sauces- yum, that's like home grown tomatoes, it doesn't even compare to store bought! I'm glad you had a great time rain and all. I love the post church pics with the kids too (and I am super jealous of seeing your Cali green grass!)
ReplyDeleteI am planting tomatoes this year and I so hope they grow because you're right they are worlds better. After 3 days of rain it is greener than ever here, so beautiful, but it's chilly out.
DeleteI need to read up on that Wordpress situation.. I've heard that a lot readers are having trouble commenting on my blog...
ReplyDeleteAnyway. Whoa- 30 people!! You ARE nuts! But, it looks like so much fun! And the fruit platters look lovely!!
My mom makes an amazing hot fudge sauce too. I can literally taste it if I think about it!
They have implemented some new rules, one of which is that if you have a wordpress account you have to use it to comment on other wordpress hosted blogs. I have an old account I've never used that is idle (couldn't figure it out, shocker) and all my comments to you say I have to log in to wordpress. Why would I use an account I don't even use, it makes no sense. And here's the kicker, they won't let you destroy your account. I have had some headaches this weekend about it. I am emailing them today and hopefully I can get it straightened out. If you have any advice for me let me know.
DeleteI love that even with that many people in one house that there were so many smiles. I'm not so sure that that would happen with a lot of families being in such close quarters. I think it is just another great quality that I will add to my list of how I adore you! Your home always looks so full of love (and delicious food too!)
ReplyDeleteThanks :D!!!!!! I just had to put blinders on and ignore the disaster going on in every single room. I haven't always been so good about this but thank goodness I've relaxed over time. This noise level still gets to me but I just take a deep breath.
DeleteWhat a wonderful and fun weekend. Sorry the weather was less than stellar, but it appears you and your clan have no trouble having fun indoors or out. Hope the sunshine returns and that you can recover from having SO many kids in one place (you are my hero) :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I will be cleaning literally all day today. But so many good times were had between us all it was worth it.
DeleteGood thing you have such a big hot tub! I wish I had a larger family. Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteAs loud and chaotic as it is we always have a blast. Especially now that the kids aren't babies anymore. When we got together years ago when they were all younger it was stressful and much more difficult. Now it's just loud and messy, but so fun!
DeleteI noticed that with Wordpress.com blogs too. It's making me crazy! I'm on Wordpress.org so we have no problems though. Whew.
ReplyDeleteYour family get-together looked like incredibly amounts of noisy fun! I LOVE big chaos like that!
Honestly it almost drove me to tears, I hate being controlled by computers.
DeleteYou love big chaos? You would've died and gone to heaven then if you were here Saturday night.
Marie, looks like so much fun as usual. Miss all of you guys and the comment about the dangerous weather is hilarious. Yer killin' me smalls....love the St. Patrick's Day extravaganza, my kids are jealous, as they read your blog too. Maybe next year. :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully the Wallworks were able to go to Lego Land without too much rain? Love ya,
Shauna
They went Thursday so they missed the rain. It mainly rained at night but also a little bit during the day. Get on the St. Patty's day wagon sister! In all honesty I am hit and miss with these little holidays. The kids were so happy and excited though I am gonna try and do better to remember to plan something fun.
DeleteNow that's what I call a full house. Looks like everyone had a great time and I'm sure the kids loved the sugary treat of Lucky Charms.
ReplyDeleteOh for sure, that was the first time I have bought a sugar cereal so they were in heaven!
DeleteWhat a beautiful family you have!!! Our family will likely never be this big since Cory is an only child, and I only have one sister. I bet it's fun to be a part of a huge, happy family!
ReplyDeleteOoooh Lucky Charms. I deny myself sugar cereals, but I gotta admit those pictures tempted me a little...
Super fun! Obnoxiously loud, but very fun indeed.
DeleteListen Siter. (we aren't sisters, but you know)
ReplyDeleteI died laughing over your cell phone comment.
I laugh at your blog, you laugh at mine. equals.
I am not as equally funny as you, but whatever you say.
DeleteYou are a brave woman! The food looks amazing, and I love those long benches at your dining room table! Keep trying to convince Mike to do that (unsuccessfully so far, but working on it!)
ReplyDeleteBrave? More like I have no choice. But of course I love it. The rain did throw a wrench into my plan though as usually I push all the kids out back and lock the door.
Delete20 kids for dinner (etc.)?!?!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! :)
I am paying for it today. Let the cleaning extravaganza begin!
DeleteThat is so fun to see the other Wallworks all grown up! Thira looks exactly the same- beautiful- as she did 10 years ago and Mark is SUPER skinny. Or am I remembering him wrong?
ReplyDeleteNo,he was probably at his heaviest when you knew him. He decided he was tired and has cleaned up his food choices. He also surfs every single day. Sometimes 3 times a day, early morning, on his lunch break and after work. My house is in chaos, but we all had so much fun.
DeleteLooks like such a good time!!! and the fruit platter looks amazing
ReplyDeleteSuch a good looking family!! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! What lovely, lovely pictures. You are lucky that you are are able to get together and enjoy family time. As far as the WP thing - I signed out, signed back in and so far it is working. I don't know what is going on with them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it is so frustrating, I am gonna work on it tomorrow.
DeleteLooks like a lot of fun. Rainbows always remind me of God's promises.
ReplyDeleteYou and your family always look like you are having such a wonderful time : )!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...so many kids! Haha. Hope you adults were able to hold your own! ;) Looks like a fun time! xo
ReplyDeleteWe were barely hanging on. Good thing we're always up for a challenge.
DeleteThere is so much love in your photos! Looks like a fun weekend, housefull and all!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful, happy post, Marie! It always looks like such fun at your house. Listen, we always see so many beautiful sunny days in your photos, it's nice to know that California is a REAL place that has rain occasionally! ;-) What fun!
ReplyDeleteYes & Glenn and I always joke that it always makes the news. If it rains it will be the top story that night, "Storm Watch 2012!!!", it's all very dramatic.
DeleteI don't think I even know 30 people to have that big of a bbq! Love all your family time!
ReplyDeleteIn the kids with the ice cream picture - I love the kid on the far right with it all over his face!
That looks like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteBusy lady with super fab friends and family! I love it! We don't have any family around so I think your "parties" are awesome! I hate it when changes come to the blog world and we are all at their mercy! Major stinko!
ReplyDeleteI know, and of course I am having the biggest headache over it because the only computer terms I know are blog & type.
DeleteAwh, friends over is so fun. Looks like y'all had a blast together. I love hot tubs!
ReplyDeleteIn regards to your comment...yes yes! I lovee to read and bake! I told you we were kindred spirits ;)
