Unbroken
My arthritis has been in remission for about a year. Not anymore.
I was reading a book last night waiting for Emry to finish play practice when the serious pain began.
Then I tossed and turned all night while my fingers to elbow of my right hand were swollen with intense pain. I've never experienced it so severe.
I've popped more pills in the last 24 hours than I have my entire life.
I can feel it getting better. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.
Emry fashioned me a sweet sling.
But this summer is still so great. I love having the kids home. I love late nights watching movies and productive mornings of chores and home school stuff.
Typing is not easy. But rest assured my summer is awesome.

I'm so sorry. Arthritis can be brutal. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteIt is. But all of us deal with health issues sooner or later, right now is my time.
DeleteMarie, I feel so bad for you. I've never been diagnosed with arthritis, but my Mom and Grandmom had it and I'm seeing and feeling what I think are the effects of it. I feel so bad for you since you're so young. It's great that the kids are being so thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran, they have great medication now, truly magic pills that for me have made all the difference. But I only like to be on them when I must.
DeleteThat's a sweet sling. I get mild cases of arthritis in my arms, too, I believe. I don't know what else it could be, but it hurts. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteMarie, I am so sad to read this. I'm sorry you have to go through this. We love you here in Fresno.
ReplyDeleteLove, Karen
We love you all too. Thanks for taking care of my girl and Netty.
DeleteOh Marie, I'm so sorry! I'm glad you're still making the best of your summer--and that you've raised such caring kids that they'll make you a sling :) Hoping for the pain-free best for you!
ReplyDeleteAnd glad that I've taught them how to clean bathrooms and do chores as well:) I am kinda good for nothing right now.
DeleteSo sad that you are in pain!! You have such a positive attitude.
ReplyDeleteAwww Im sorry to hear this....I hope you start feeling better soon! I deal with pain from TMJ all day every day and it gets frusterating sometimes but there are worse things. Get better lady
ReplyDeleteOh bummer! I bet that was the last thing you needed! Hang in there and try to sucker your kids into rubbing your feet and feeding you chocolate. That always makes me feel better anyway.
ReplyDeleteOh man. I hope the pain goes away and I also hope that your summer continues to be awesome.
ReplyDeleteSweet Marie, I'm sorry dear. I love you and hope the pills will give you some relief. I'm thinking about you and your love of a family. Miss you all so much-
ReplyDeleteLove,

ReplyDeleteYou poor thing! Does swimming help? What about ginger pills?
ReplyDeleteEmry did manage to fashion you quite the fetching sling. I have no understanding of the pain that you are experiencing, but I will pray that it is eased. I am such a believer in the power of positive thinking so do not stop focusing on it getting better! Hope is hope. XO

ReplyDeleteOwww. I'll refrain from an attempt to give medical advice and just say that I hope this goes away quickly. Awesome sling, too.
ReplyDeleteMarie, I am so sorry to hear this! I had no idea you had suffered from arthritis. That is a terrible thing. I hope you get better soon. I'm glad you have such an awesome family to help you out and take care of you. You totally deserve it. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope it clears up soon!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I hopped on your page and saw that first image I thought "Oh no.. not arthritis" then there it was - that big painful word. I hope you get better very soon!
ReplyDeleteI thought you had to be 80 to have arthritis. Apparently not.
Deleteoh dear, praying you get better soon!
ReplyDeleteOuch. The swelling compared to your other hand is astonishing! I hope you can get some relief!

You poor thing...I feel your pain. Literally. I have arthritis in my knee and it sucks. But I know that there are worse things...so really, I'm just lucky this is all I have to deal with.
ReplyDeleteHope you get better my friend. Hope your weekend is going well!
I feel the same way, it could be much worse. Seeing what some members of my family go through and friends, yikes, I feel lucky with this ailment. I might thing differently in 20 years but as painful and annoying as it can be it's pretty manageable.
DeleteMy husband has arthritis in his knees and feet, so I know how painful that can be - glad you are able to still look at the bright side of things! :D
ReplyDeleteI am sorry- that sounds horribly painful. I hope it goes down again soon to provide you with some relief.
ReplyDeleteSorry you aren't feeling your best! I am happy to hear that you are loving this summer as much as I am with my girls. This honestly is one of the best ones we have had in several years. I am definitely more relaxed with not working and I know the girls are really feeling it too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you're in pain! I hope it eases up. Your attitude is awesome though!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry. I know how it feels and mind you, arthritis really sucks. I do hope you feel better soon.
