Santa Baby

Saturday morning was 'Breakfast with Santa' for all of the Primary children at church.  Since Emry just turned 12 she is no longer in Primary but attends Young Woman's now, she's big time.  I dropped Emry off at Walmart just down the street so she could watch her friend in a singing choir out front.  Who was there but our Mayor Chuck Washington.  Of course we had to take another pic with him.  I always love seeing him at various events around town as he is just a happy and genuinely nice guy and does a fantastic job running our city.

On to breakfast with Santa.  Breakfast consisted of fruit, hot chocolate, muffins and an assortment of sugar cold cereal, my kids were elated as we never have this at home.  There were crafts, singing and of course sitting on Santa's lap and greedily telling him all the things you want him to bring you.

And here's me at 7 yrs. old at a church breakfast with Santa in 1980.  Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!

  1. Alright, I'm busting out my pictures too of me on Santa's lap. I have a few I found at my mom's. You just gave me the cutest blog idea. Very cute Marie, I'm thinking you should cut your like that now..hahaha!

Yes, Emry is big time for sure. Kalen just got ordained into the Deacon's Quorum Presidency, we were there for his blessing today. I love this life in the church, I look at my kids and just think, "you guys have it made," they are learning so many great things. I spoke in Sacrament meeting today. Get this, they called to ask Kirk to speak, but I thought to myself, "didn't my husband speak last year" (we have a huge ward). Kirk told me the topic was cultivating family traditions. I called back the counselor and said, "thanks, but I'll be speaking, this is an awesome topic that I can nail. So I spoke for Kirk, Kirk was fine with that for sure. :)

Ethan and Lila are angels. You're a lucky mother. I love you and can't wait to see you whenever that may be... :) Love,

    SHauna xoxo

    1. Glenn & Jeannette both spoke yesterday too! I was so tearing up and then when Glenn started talking about our kids I thought I was straight up going to bawl right there in sacrament. Glenn's time ran short and he didn't get to give his whole talk thank goodness, I would have been a mess. You are a woman of action, wish I could have heard your talk as well, I have no doubt it was fantastic.

  4. Woaah you used to look so much like Emry as a child! Especially your chin :P The kids must have been excited about all that sugar for breakfast and the other activities. I just can't believe that that's normal breakfast for some kids.

    1. Honestly some people may think I am crazy but it really makes me sad that that is a normal everyday breakfast for many kids. Ethan wanted french toast for breakfast this morning, so I just hurriedly dipped some wheat bread in an egg, fried it up and put a tiny bit of syrup all over, didn't take too long. Yes it still has sugar, but at least I had a hand in it

  5. What a cute 7-year-old you were! Is that one of your brothers behind you? He does not look at all happy to be seeing Santa. :o)

The Santa at breakfast with the kids has some very disturbing eyebrows... What is that? Paint over his regular eyebrows? ;o)

    1. I know! The eyebrows are scary. No that is not my brother, it is a boy in my church, Jeff Davis, I knew him my whole life, such a nice family.

  7. Aww, love the throwback pic! You were a cutie! I somehow have NO pictures of me with Santa, ever. I should totally go to the mall and get one made up to give to my parents this year, haha. Never too old, right?

  8. Your mayor looks so genuinely happy! You know a town is well taken care of when you see a face like that.
We haven't had our breakfast with Santa yet but the girls are looking forward to it. Me too, because that means that I don't have to cook or clean it up. ;-)

  9. Well a special breakfast every now and then is good. I just can't imagine eating it everyday. My kids would be in such a bad mood and would surely not feel well. A fluffy bowl of oatmeal or homemade pumpkin pancakes is more up their alley.

Have a great Monday Marie. I love that pic of you and Santa...you haven't changed much :)
