Career Day

The kids elementary spirit day  this month was 'Career Day'.  I am sure my kids will change their mind a hundred times before they actually settle on a career, but as of now Ethan wants to be a Police Officer and Lila wants to perform with Cirque de Soleil.

We found this snazzy leotard at the Salvation Amry and complimented it with lots of colorful sparkly makeup.  Lila's never seen a Cirque show but I've seen many & I think she would do great!
This isn't actually a police outfit, but I asked around to some friends and this is the best I could come up with.  Even with 40% off at the Salvation Army Lila's outfit was almost 15 bucks, so sorry Ethan,  a Park Ranger's outfit that's a few sizes too small will have to do.

At least I got the Ugg's right.  I know all Park Rangers wear Ugg's.

  6. Haha Lila is kind of doing one of Bikram yoga poses (dancers pose I believe)! Cirque de soleil performer is definitely a creative career choice :)

  10. So cute! I love the outfits... It'll be fun to look back at these photos when they're in college (or have graduated from college) and decide on their "real" careers. What fun!

  12. Love the creativity for Career Day...I bet most kids showed up in scrubs and a white coat. Too cute with the Cirque du Soleil idea! Maya would love that one, she's a huge fan.

  13. Park rangers totally wear uggs. And can I join Cirque du Soleil when I grow up, too? It's not too late, right? Adorable kiddos, as always :)

    1. You have the strength, are you flexible? I'd say it's definitely not too late!

    2. Haha, I have no flexibility and even less balance. And don't even ask me to move in time to music! Maybe I could sign-on as a stage hand or spotlight-operator instead...

  14. I think Uggs are standard issue for most police departments. He looks so very awesome with the slick back hair and aviator glasses.

I most recently saw Dralion and it was just a fanastic show...one Lila might like. She sure does look so fantastic with her makeup.

It will be interesting later in life to look back on these times against what they actually choose as a profession.
